Major Release RealityPlan 24.3

Major Release RealityPlan 24.3

Major Release of RealityPlan™ v24.3

We’re excited to announce the release of RealityPlan™ v24.3 and its web viewer, which includes the highly anticipated RealityAsset™ definition workflow.

An asset-based solution

The manufacturing industry revolves around assets. Documenting a site means documenting the assets within that environment.

By helping our customers define all the assets in their facility spatially, Prevu3D RealityPlan™ becomes a powerful solution for breaking down the assets found in a 3D scan and connecting key information for various use cases. Think training, health and safety, inspections, inventory management, maintenance, etc.

Our mission is to create a more efficient way to visualize and understand assets in a facility. With RealityAssets™, you can accurately pinpoint the spatial location of any asset and apply the necessary parameters for documentation.

Prevu3D latest features

Creating spatial asset definitions: RealityAssets™

In RealityPlan™, users can define complex manufacturing assets present in their 3D meshed scans.
We’ve developed a suite of tools that lets users view the RealityAssets™ they create. The basic functionality involves creating multiple bounding boxes to highlight every element of a specific asset, defining its shape, and visually displaying it in the 3D environment.
Multiple boxes can be created and manually adjusted to capture all the details. Using the turntable widget, users can navigate 360 degrees around the assets to facilitate different views and quickly make edits.
Prevu3D enables users to create usable assets for design layouts and documentation across systems, adding specific information to the assets.

Customizing RealityAsset™ parameters

Enrich your RealityAssets by adding properties. Users can now customize parameters linked to RealityAssets to document their environments. Add additional fields to customize asset details.
Create groups for classification:

  • Asset Type
  • Manufacturer
  • Model Type

Add specifications:

  • Like numeric values
  • External links
  • Attach a file
  • On/Off toggle

We’re working on supporting many classification standards, such as IFC and CFIHOS, and helping technical engineers define asset parameters.

Connecting metadata and documentation is essential to ensure that all project stakeholders work with the most accurate version of the truth.

Using AI Magic Wand for complex RealityAsset™ creation

Building on our new RealityAssets™, the Asset Magic Wand is an AI-powered tool to define assets in meshed environments.

Imagine using the Magic Wand tool in Photoshop. Now, envision using a similar tool to isolate and define complex assets. Leveraging AI engines, users can now effortlessly generate RealityAssets™ with a few clicks. Then, fine-tune the generated results using the manual workflow for precise customization.

Using RealityAsset™s for planning inspections

With the new tools to help create RealityAssets™, complex assets like piping systems can be defined, and relevant information can be attached, making this feature extremely useful in planned inspection use cases.

Once RealityAssets™ are created, they become selectable. Users can search for and define points inside the scene, such as valves and pipes.

Clicking on a pipe highlights the entire system and displays attached metadata in the right-hand panel.

Users can also define sub-assets and attach specific information for items such as valves or piping elbows.

Access inspection requirements for assets, including their frequency and accessibility (such as whether scaffolding is needed to access that point) and the date of the last inspection.

Users can easily teleport to any defined asset using the unique asset ID and the teleport button, regardless of their location in the scene.

Additional use cases

Engineers

Properly defined assets greatly help the design engineering process by providing easy and direct access to key information, such as asset durability, which can determine whether it needs replacement or is still usable. Design engineers aim to accelerate their CAPEX projects by reusing 3D-scanned assets and building asset libraries. In order to assess the impact of moving equipment, CAPEX requires engineers to have better access to relevant information linked to a specific asset involved in the project. Simply seeing a cut asset moved is no longer sufficient.

Health & safety planning

Factories present numerous risks and hazards, making it vital to help the workforce understand these risks and respond appropriately during emergencies. A visually comprehensive representation of the facility that documents each asset, lists associated risk hazards, and outlines an action plan can become a crucial tool in ensuring a safe working environment.

Our vision and direction

Our vision is to empower manufacturers and EPCs with a centralized, unified view of their manufacturing sites. This context-rich environment seamlessly connects CAD/BIM and enterprise data into a user-friendly platform for all stakeholders within a manufacturing company. Properly documenting assets becomes a game-changer for engineering design and operational efficiency use cases.
