Prevu3D Enhances Workflows with NVIDIA Omniverse

Users of the Prevu3D digital twin platform can now simultaneously improve workflows, export to Universal Scene Description (USD) and seamlessly integrate with NVIDIA Omniverse

Prevu3D today announced support for the Universal Scene Description (USD) framework directly inside of the Prevu3D desktop and cloud applications. With this integration of USD, clients of Prevu3D can enhance their workflows and bring their reality-capture and digital twin data directly inside NVIDIA Omniverse™.

“Over the past couple of months, we have been working with NVIDIA to enable advanced workflows and close the gap between reality-capture data and Omniverse,” said Nicolas Morency – CEO at Prevu3D. “With the USD export, it now becomes seamless and easy to bring digital twins into any Omniverse project.”

Universal Scene Description (USD) is an easily extensible, open-source 3D scene description and file framework originally developed by Pixar for content creation and interchange among different tools. As a result of its power and versatility, the scene description is being widely adopted, not only in the visual effects community, but also in architecture, design, robotics, manufacturing, and other disciplines. USD is the foundation for NVIDIA Omniverse, a live collaborative platform that connects a wide variety of content creation tools to each other and to its real-time ray-tracing renderer, Omniverse RTX Renderer. With USD as a catalyst for workflows, Prevu3D’s collaboration with NVIDIA will meet the diverse needs of customers for overall workflow enhancement.

“With USD at the core of Omniverse, the support from Prevu3D will be key to unlocking seamless workflows and export solutions for reality capture and digital twins,” said Rev Lebaredian, vice president of Omniverse and simulation technology at NVIDIA. “Continuing the momentum behind USD development, the integration equips designers, creators and engineers with the initial tools for building real-time, physically accurate digital twins.”

Prevu3D software now allows their users to export any reality-capture data and digital twins using the USD file framework while taking their workflows to the next level. Once exported, Omniverse users can simply import the USD file and integrate it with their Omniverse projects.
